Immunity to Change

Why is personal change so difficult? If we hope to develop leaders, we need a better understanding why usually the key person (leaders, politician or people with influence) have like a biological immunity from changing or even sometimes from trying!!!
Today 21.01.2011 in Tirana something wrong and perverse has happened. Followers were manipulated and followers were not supported. Followers putted in the table tennis and played like a ping pong from the leaders (don’t want to take sides!!!).
Why is this happening? Because the mentality of our pseudo leaders and their immunity to change!
Leaders who have little awareness of their emotions and how they affect others are subject to these behaviors; they do not have control or in some cases, the ability to reflect upon their actions.
Because the pseudo leaders couldn’t overcome their old perception and sit in a round table in order to find solution at the end of rainy day the only solution that remains:
More instability,
More insecurity,
More doubts
And more unsure way to cross…

Idi change is improvement, even when we fail we have learned something and that something will help us in the future.

ReplyDeleteI liked very much your example, it is well found and perfectly matches the situation and the book. (It can also go with other books, such as “Followership” etc) There are these existing, hidden mindsets (attitudes) mentioned in the book, that does not let our politicians (leaders) change. I am really sorry about this situation and unfortunately hopeless for any change because we are waiting for 20 years but nothing is done. On the contrary, that little work that was done during these 20 years is almost ruined again and all of it is because their immunity to change.

It is time that we need a change on our political leaders. It is time for a change and we do not have to be afraid from it.
