POSITIVE DEVIANCE

When I read some reviews on this book, some memories from my youth came to my mind. A doctor who was searching for a cure against cancer noticed that people living in some certain areas of Turkey where a specific kind of plant grew suffered from cancer less than other parts of Turkey. He prepared some portions of his medicine and cured some people but he couldn’t formulate the exact medicine. Some doctors in high positions called him a charlatan even though he was a doctor and he had to leave the country to continue his work. Since he couldn’t find the exact formula for his medicine (maybe there was no exact formula because it may differ from person to person and it was what he was doing), some experts who had loud voice didn’t let him practice the change.
Most of us have certain patterns of behavior, background etc. and it doesn’t let us practice new behavior. In fact, by practicing we can acquire a second nature. But it needs practice, patience, tolerance, time and maybe some others. But ‘Best Practice experts/authorities’ may not allow you to go further.
