How to Change the World: Social Entrepreneurs and the Power of New Ideas

How to Change the World: Social Entrepreneurs and the Power of New Ideas

David Bornstein

Oxford University Press 2007

Now a day this sentence sound like a utopic word where the globalization is the sentence of the day in each aspect of economic life but not only. Everything looks like is controlled from multination companies and where a single person or a small company is destined to fail before he begins.

Then we had in our class this very interesting theme.

In the beginning was enlightening than you realize that there can be still hope and at the end you are wondered.... The stories of these social entrepreneurs I’m sure has inspire and encourage many people who seek to build a better world.

It looks like after study this book and the real stories for real people from world places where you believe that they don’t exist and not to realize that these real people of bold and flesh has make the change.

Of course during the lesion you become optimistic and at the end of it euphoric!!!

But I still believe even that you may have a brilliant idea you still need to be careful because at the end of the day you may remains alone against all.

  1. Hi Idi,
It is very true your thought about "But I still believe even that you may have a brilliant idea you still need to be careful because at the end of the day you may remains alone against all."
I want to tell sth to you and to myself that we must have faith on what we want and why after that we can make sth encourage even by the others.

  2. At the beginning and especially if we are not part of it, it surely seems a utopia. And you are right that we should keep it in balance. But there is one saying I like very much. It's 'You can't start Spring with one flower but every Spring starts with one flower'.

  3. I believe that you don't risk to remain alone if you relly belive in what you are going to do and you do it with passion. If people are going to think about the risk even when they are making something so special for the society I don;t beleive these people are those special people we talked about.

  4. Hi Idi,
You took a good point and I see that our classmate agree too...if you don't take the risk to jump to the next step you never will know what what is from the other side of the road.
So, here I want to say that even making mistakes it will help us to learn somethings...Thomas Edison when found the electric light bulb he made more than 500 mistakes till he reached the goal...lets not give up easily
