Today there are nearly 2 billion current internet users in the world and it increases every year. Internet provides different opportunities to users and it continues to develope every day. For that reason ithas become one o the biggest markets. When we are thinking about what largest countries in that world, new approach is to count internet users instead of real world population.
On every stage of our life we start to use internet and today it is one of the indispensable part of our life. We can find any information we need, communicate with people on the other side of the world, watch videos, listen musics, read magazines/news, search at the world's best libraries, shopping what and where we want etc. by using internet. Today's world everybody accepts the importance of internet and uses it to make life easier and spent time more effectively.
I think in Albania except social sites such as facebook, there is no more webpages using actively to make life easier. Actually as some of you konw, I'm new in Albania and maybe for that reason I do not know the useful webpages here. For example is there any web page to sell second hand things such as house, car, furniture, accessories... Also which career pages visited mostly? I'm looking forward to see your ideas for getting more information about web usage in Albania.

ReplyDeleteI would like to comment on you opinion regarding Albanian because it is not true that we are using Internet as many as other people in the world, Even children 6 years old using internet as well:
1. We are using E-banking to do online transactions with our bank accounts
2. We are using E-bay, Strawberrynet, Fragrancex, and other web Page for online Shoping Using PayPal.
3. We have to many information web page:

4. We read online magazines/news

ReplyDeleteThanks for your information. I think there is a misunderstanding. I didn't mean that all Albanian people do not use internet. Of course a lot of people use effectively. I know people who educated, have career, here as you and they use a lot of global and usefull web pages but also there are some other people. I just wanted to share my observation as a foreign.
I can say similar comment also for Turkey. Mostly uneducated people use internet almost just for social sites. Also that is my opinion for Turkey. It can be discussable.
I had searched about this for my research methods project. According to http://www.internetworldstats.com/list2.htm, in Europe the research has been applied to more than 50 countries, Albania is the 42th. 43.5% people use internet. If you can check from the web site, you can see first 19 countries usage range is more than 70%. As I mentioned in my post, that is just my opinion according to my observation and researchs which I found. We just have different ideas about that.

ReplyDeleteIt is interesting fact, that in Albania, Turkey and Russia internet usage is nearly the same, based on this source. Considering that penetration of internet in Albania started lot later I assume this number of internet users in Albania is great.

ReplyDeleteI totally agree with Tatiana. Internet was a trend of the last years in Albania and other countries as well. The penetration might be low according to your observations, but 19 countries you mentioned with high possibility are developed countries. And depending on how long have you been living here, you also might have understand that Albania is still in developing phase, and it’s showing effort to overcome the economical, political and social problems it has. At last except social sides there are many other helpful sites where you can find information for everything you need, some of which you may find in comments above.
