Followership
How followers are creating change and changing leaders
Harvard Business Press 2008
The nature of followers is vital relating from their leader and in my opinion Authentic Leadership means who you are as a person (your beliefs and values), how you lead and manage within an organization (your thinking and behaviors).
Leaders have followers and vice versa. Leaders do not have subordinates. In order for them to lead, they have to give up formal authoritarian control, because to lead is to have followers, and following is always a voluntary activity.
That means that e follower isn’t a subordinates (a people who work for the leader) a follower need to be appealed and showing where to go and they want to lead their hearts desire. If a follower is touched from the above mention steps he will follow you enough to stop what they are doing and perhaps walk into danger and situations that they would not normally consider risking.
But as we see each day in the reality life (I’m referring now to our leadership in Albania) where we noticed one man party that underneath the party leader you have empty position or personality without personality incapable to replace him.
Theoretically each leader must prepare also the next generation of leaders that will “replace him”. This approach not only educates the next generation of leaders, but also fulfills the individuals need for self-actualization, self-fulfillment, and self-worth.
So under this sad perspective I can only say that if in the development country the several organizations (political, private sector etc.) have already recognize the value of the followers and their future potential for the organization (political, private sector etc.) here in the situation is very sad and the old leading cast is making on purpose and a gap in order to not have somebody to replace them from their very comfortable leading position.

Hello Idi.
ReplyDeleteI understand your point of view that leaders must prepare the next generation of leader that will replace them.
But in our country this think will never happen. Our history has shown that if our leaders are not thrown from the horse they will never come down by their intention (they do not accept to be losers). This is and has been a pity for our country.
