Switch

Dear all,

While reading the book "Switch" I remembered a story from Istanbul that happened in Grand Bazaar. There was a turkish delight seller, he started to give one free delight to every buyer coming to the shop and on the first day he put 5 different types. Then after three days he put 15 different types of delights. What happened was, that he noticed that the buyers where more much more doubtful which one to take which made them even loose more time and sometimes go out of the shop without buying at all. So, actually the seller was thinking more free options more sells but it didn't happen exactly.

And actually when you think about nowadays this is a reality, you go to the market and sometimes you spend hours thinking what is the right product for your need among attractive options. Or you go to a tourism agency and they give you plenty of offers with different hotels and what happens is that you spend a lot of time to choose and sometimes after you already have taken a decision, you think, was this the right decision to be taken?

So, our decision paralysis is becoming a factor more and more in our days.

  1. Hallo Anri,

you brought a very interesting examples that every one of us has experienced at least ones in his life.

anyway in my opinion , if you have a clear idea which direction is you path and what are your needs that you will have less decision paralysis.

    good night

  2. Hello Anri.
In the example that you have written above you are showing of the insecurities that the elephant (the inside of you) can have. When the elephant is insecure the rider is lost.
Switch is the process defined when the elephant is in conscious state and the rider will make the impossible to alter the movement.
