When Mr. Arat was telling us about his climbing the mountain Ararat, climbing and crying and climbing again, a lot of associations came to my mind. In fact all our actions especially our first actions in life are climbing through tears: starting from the birth and finishing with the agony of death. This world is the world of struggle and pain but only through pain and great efforts you can reach real satisfaction. That’s why each of us climbs his or her own mountain. It is not the summit that matters but the way to this summit. Try to enjoy it! Of course I can’t but mention my profession. When I mean profession I mean style of life, because if it was only the means to earn money I think I wouldn’t survive. I feel complete satisfaction when I see my students’ curious happy eyes. To see these eyes you have to pass a certain way together. This way is not always easy but always pleasant. The more difficult task you complete the happier you become. If you do it with genuine interest and good intention you can succeed faster. While in Russia I had two interesting events in my teaching life. The first one happened in winter when a group of my students asked me to run with them on the snow around the school barefoot. Do not think that for all Russians it is a daily activity. I hesitated a little but then I said I can do it. My students knew it had been the first time in my life and it influenced them a lot. The second one was when I myself suggested my students going rafting for ten days. We made rafts ourselves, prepared food on the campfire and slept in the tents in the forest. It was incredibly difficult! After the third day I started crying when nobody saw. I wanted to give up, but then I understood that the only way out is to enjoy this adventure. When we reached the destination I was sorry that everything had finished.
hi Olga,
ReplyDeletewith pleasure I read your stories ....
It is true everything you mention especially when you have by your own experience. I liked very much the difficult situation like special adventure with other friends because in this way I can feel satisfaction even when I have to do hard work or to solve difficult problem on mathematics.
Hi Olga,
ReplyDeleteYou are right. I guess hardly achieved results are always more satisfactory than easily achieved.
I really like scuba diving. For me it is kind of different world than real. And for to live this experience just for 20 min., there are a lot of onus you have to do. But it really worth for everything.
