How to Change the World - Social Entrepreneurs and the Power of New Ideas

We have spoken, discussed and read a lot about change; what prevents change, how to overcome our immunity to change and so on. In fact what is happening today is that people in general want change to happen, want that the company where they work to be successful, they want to be contribute and improve the social environment where they live etc. At the same time they continue to do nothing and expecting from the others to do it. We theoretically agree that the change begins from us, and practically we expect it from others.

At work you might have an idea that might be very brilliant, that calls for change but you do not take the risk of taking actions as it might make you lose credits. I think that we still do not believe enough in our capacities and in our ability to make this a better world to live in. The examples given in the class by the professor they were great men who did not choose to flight their home country and to find their creativity somewhere abroad. They stayed in their poor country and they found their inspiration and the power to make big changes there.

We should start to believe in our ability, and we should not ignore our ideas. We should be open with ourselves, our friends, our colleagues. At first, our idea might seem an ordinary one; it may also seem ridiculous at first. It does not matter, evaluate your thoughts and ideas, and share them with whoever you can, in order to construct them. Make yourself think and others as well. To me: No idea is bad idea, without evaluating it.

  1. I totally agree with you, the only problem that our community faces is that we as a nation are use to judge in advance before even looking to a idea...I think this is a reason why most people back out to express their ideas

  2. Yes, people want to change but I guess they don't to change themselves. Are we a bit selfish? We decorate our flats but when it comes to paint exterior of the building nobody moves because it's something common. Secondly everyone has different ideas and they don't want to give up their ideas.

  3. Dear Jerina,
I like your comment and I agree with you. Of course any idea is better than no idea, because without evaluating it you can not know what can come out. We can start to believe in ourselves and develop our ideas slowly. Sharing the ideas is very important because we can get support, we can improve them and even get helping realizing our ideas which at the end of the day may have a very positive effect and change some people’s life.

  4. I agree with you especially with your first paragraph. The main and the most important thing is we are not getting action, we are just thinking in our minds or talking as a conversation between each other and what is the result? What is the benefit? for whom we are providing better opportunities? What we change? So what is the result!

All we are educated people, we have career less or more and I worried how many of us doing sometihng for a small group who need help? How many people around us trying to change sometihng in your country or city?

The bad thing is: If we have somebody around us who has a problem or if we have a problem, we are getting act. After we witness or live something bad, we start to understand what others feel and then we take action.

As I mentioned in my post we have to firstly change our thoughts to start changing the world.
